musta been), since I took it at like almost 4 a.m...there are Miguel, a
fun guy from Murcia, and two guapas - Nida and Jessy. I can't say much
about Jessy, but the other two are great fun. and Nida is a crazy girl for sure ;)
after walking up at like 11, having too much food fer breakfast (my stomach was kind of revolting...), I prepared to collect my new baby. which you can see
here...

sounds about right, or?

a former (and much valued) colleague from AOL Dublin wrote in an email: ...am delighted to hear you have a new job. Just looking online (at) Parship ... it looks like an online dating site ... have you made a career of your hobby and moved from project management to evaluating the ladies ? ;-)

of course we had a few rons (rum) and beers after too ;)

That seemed to be the last vacation for this year... reason being, that I started my new job at Parship.de on Oct. 01... so far it looks good, especially promising is, that the guys and gals in the office are great fun to work with and share information freely... less politics than at AOL for sure... vamos a ver :)

Hello there, long time no post...

well, quite a few things happened in between, but here just a short summary. after a lurvely visit in Dublin and a great time wid da lads I thought about getting a job in Spain. alas, I needed a english CV... hm, 4 weeks and 2 sessions with an native english were needed, and finally that was done...

in the meantime, the only application I really wrote, I got the invite for an interview... hm, not bad. well, short story, I got the job, hence no need for further apps, ey ;) new company is www.parship.com

during trying to finish my CV and letter of application, my mom had an accident and broke her shoulder, so I went down and spent a good bit of time with her, helping around the house and stuff. she's now much better off (and has a titan-like shoulder piece ).

right now I am enjoing the last days prior to my new job in San Sebastian/Donostia/Spain, while having spanish classes every day.

picture here shows a lamp post/farola, a pic I really like.

see yiz soon :-)

Calender Week 28

Mo and Tuesday with the trainer from Inplace Development (the outplacement company which AOL pays), preparing my CV, and simulating an interview. Fun, I learned a lot, but also very exhausting...

Tue I also bought a new suit. deffo needed one, last time I bought one was like 1997...

Wed, one day MS Project training. Good trainer, medium effort. Now I know "all" about resource sheets and more too ;)

Thu, Mike S., (a former colleague) dropped by for a chat and a round of tabletennis.

Fri, working a bit with Ted and Ted (Mark and Dan), and then off to the photographer, getting pics for the CV. great session, can only recommend them ( http://www.terzka.de/ ).

well, and Sat/Sun off to visit my mom, which is hospitalized at the moment...she broke her upper arm/shoulder (a comminuted fracture), and the only way to get her arm working back is a prosthesis... surgery is tomorrow...fingers crossed mom! after that she'll be something like the 6 million Dollar woman ;)

Update in between travels

Bueno.... last post has been a while...am back from Cuba now for a week. the first cultural shock has been digested (alemania is just soo different...)

the pic here shows me in the Yunque National Parque, near Baracoa. Baracoa was the city I picked for my last 2 weeks too, by the way. just great to spend yer time there... beaches, usually very nice and friendly people (not as pushy as i.e. Trinidad or Santiago), the 2 national parks, lots of rivers to swim and chill or have a party, barbecueing a lil cerdito (pig)....

so, what did we do? well, some of you might have received postcards, but all in all it was a great trip. I am glad we stayed for such a long period, cause certain things simply got better/easier over time...

Today now I will be hopping on my bycicle and start to cycle to Sylt. I'll be back in about 3 weeks time (mid June ish). after that it looks like a tour through Germany (my mom in Osnabrueck, Knut in Essen, my Bro, Andrea and Antje in Munich, and after that off to Thuringia, to visit my Sister and father...and last but not least, to buy some original "thueringer wuerste"

and who thinks I'd be through then, hehe... nope! :-P quizas (maybe) a visit in Dublin, but deffo in July/August a 3 or 4 weeks stint in Spain - another spanish course.

P.S.: I didn't loose any weight... food was way too good (and abundant for people with hard cash too...)

P.P.S.: here 3 more favourite pics from the Cuba journey:
1 - on my birthday, driving through Habana with a 57 ish Ford V8 convertible -

2 - A sign declaring that the people are more important than money (yeah right...)

3 - a nice shot on the morning of the first of may, when we were on our way to the "placa de la revolucion", for the demonstration.
